Marketing Bites: Organic Social Media

Thanks for tuning into another post of Marketing Bites, where we dive into a topic of marketing in an easily-digestible way! This time we’re talking about organic social media.

Organic social media doesn’t mean no pesticides were sprayed on your posts (cause, let’s be honest, that probably wouldn’t be good for your device). It is just a fancy name for regular social media posts (if you’re reading this, it’s more than likely that you have made a social media post somewhere). It helps to establish your brand’s personality and voice and build relationships with your followers.

Organic social media is important because it keeps your followers active and engaged. Using hashtags will bring your post to viewers who follow the hashtag you attach to your post. Organic social media naturally brings your posts to an audience that is interested in similar products or aesthetics as your content, which is a great place to bring in more followers (that will hopefully become customers).

It is important to post frequently and regularly to your social media accounts to keep your followers engaged and active, and to keep your account from falling into the background of all the billions of posts on every social media platform. There are certain times of day that are better to post than other times – times that your target audience are most likely to see and interact with your content.

Short videos are becoming more and more popular on social media platforms, so it is important to consider how to incorporate them into your profile’s feed. Canva is a great platform to get started making visually-appealing content for your social media accounts.

If you’re establishing your brand, it is important to think about your brand elements and incorporate them into all of your posts. Brand elements include logo, font and typography, colors, voice, tone, and feel.
